EMERGENCY PLANNING & FIRE SAFETY TRAINING
PREPARE YOUR PEOPLE
Does Your Team Have a Plan They Actually Know?
A lot of businesses have an emergency plan. It sits in a binder in the office, written years ago by someone who no longer works there. The phone numbers are old, the map shows a wall that was taken down, and most of the staff have never seen it.
A plan only helps if it is current and your people know it.

An emergency action plan spells out what everyone does when a fire starts. Who calls 911. Which exit to use. Where to meet outside. Who checks that everyone got out. OSHA requires many workplaces to have one, and to review it with every employee.
A plan on paper is only the start. Your team also needs to know how to use a fire extinguisher on a small fire, and when to leave it alone and get out. That takes hands-on training.
Tri-State Fire Protection Services helps workplaces across Delaware County with both. We write plans that fit your building, post evacuation maps people can read at a glance, and train your staff in person or online. Our founder is a firefighter, and training people for emergencies is what our team does every day.

WHAT WE DO
Emergency Planning and Fire Safety Training
We help you build the plan, post the maps, and train the people who will use them. Here is what we offer.
Emergency Action Plans
We write a plan that fits your building and your staff, covering how to report a fire, how to get out, and how to make sure everyone is accounted for.
Evacuation Maps
Clear, simple maps posted in each area that show where you are, the nearest exits, your fire extinguishers, and where to meet outside.
Plan Reviews and Updates
Moved walls, new hires, or a new floor? We update your plan and maps so they match the building you have today.
Fire Safety Training
Your staff learns how fires start, how to prevent them, how to get out safely, and when to use an extinguisher. Available in person, by live Zoom, or as a self-paced online course.
Live Fire Extinguisher Training
Your team practices on a real, controlled fire in a safe, supervised setting, so the first time they pull the pin is not during an emergency.
Fire Warden Training
We train the people who will lead your evacuation, check rooms, and take the head count outside.
What Goes Into
an Emergency Action Plan?
OSHA lists six things every emergency action plan should cover:
- How to report a fire or other emergency
- How and where to evacuate, including exit routes
- What staff do if they must shut down key equipment before leaving
- How to account for everyone after they get out
- Who handles rescue or medical duties
- Who to contact with questions about the plan
Businesses with 10 or fewer employees can share the plan out loud instead of in writing.
WHAT TO EXPECT
How We Build Your Emergency Action Plan
Most plans come together in a couple of weeks. Here is how the process works.

We walk your building.
We look at every exit, stairwell, and meeting spot, and note anything that could slow people down.
We talk with your team.
We learn who works where, which shifts you run, and who may need help getting out.
We write the plan.
You get a clear, plain-language plan that covers what OSHA asks for and fits how your business really works.
We make your evacuation maps.
Each area gets a map that shows where you are and the way out.
We train your staff.
We walk your team through the plan, train your fire wardens, and offer hands-on extinguisher training.
Want to see how well the plan works? A planned fire drill is the best way to test it.
Training Your Way
Fire safety training is available three ways: in person at your workplace, as a live Zoom class, or as a self-paced online course. Live fire extinguisher training is always hands-on and in person.
DON'T WAIT
Signs Your Emergency Plan Needs an Update
Most emergency plans do not fail all at once. They slowly fall out of date. Check yours for these.
If any of these sound familiar, it is time for a fresh look. Updating a plan is much easier than starting over after something goes wrong.
Your plan is more than a year old, or no one can find it.
Names and phone numbers in the plan are out of date.
The evacuation maps on the wall no longer match your building.
Some floors or areas have no evacuation map at all.
No one has been named to lead the evacuation or take the head count.
Your staff has never held a fire extinguisher.
It has been more than a year since your last fire safety training.
An insurance company or a client asked for a copy of your plan.

What Our Customers Say
COMMON QUESTIONS
Emergency Planning Questions We Get Asked Most
These are the questions business owners and office managers ask us most.
Have additional questions? Contact Tri-State Fire Protection Services today to speak with our team.
Does my business need an emergency action plan?
Many do. OSHA requires an emergency action plan for a lot of workplaces, and your insurance company or landlord may ask for one too. Even when it is not required, a plan is the simplest way to make sure everyone knows what to do. If you have 10 or fewer employees, you can share the plan out loud instead of writing it down.
Who should I call for an emergency action plan near me in Delco?
Pick a team that will walk your building, write a plan in plain language, and train your staff on it. It helps if they can run a drill to test it, too. Tri-State Fire Protection Services is based in Folsom and does all three. Call us at (610) 707-8180 and see if we are a good fit.
How often should we update our emergency plan?
Any time something changes. That includes a remodel, a move, new shifts, or a change in who handles key jobs during an emergency. OSHA also says to review the plan with each employee when they start and whenever their role in it changes. A yearly check is a good habit even when nothing seems different.
What does fire safety training cover?
How fires start and how to prevent them, how to get out safely, how to use a fire extinguisher, and when to skip the extinguisher and leave. We can also cover your own emergency plan, so your staff learns the exits and meeting spot for your building.
How often do employees need fire extinguisher training?
If you expect your staff to use fire extinguishers, OSHA calls for training when they are hired and once a year after that. Hands-on practice with a live fire makes that training stick.
Where should evacuation maps be posted?
Near exits, elevators, stairwells, and in main hallways, at eye level where people pass by every day. Each map should show a "You Are Here" marker, so people can find the nearest way out from where they stand.
How much does emergency planning and training cost?
It depends on the size of your building, how many people you need to train, and whether you want training in person or online. Tell us about your workplace, and we will give you a quote.
